My students need a lockable charging cart for our Chromebooks! Without the ability to safely store these dexvices (and charge them), not all classes will be able to use them.

My Students
My classroom is located on the southwest side of a large city in Illinois and is filled with historically underrepresented but highly motivated students who love to explore topics in great detail. In order to provide access to careers in the applied sciences, our upperclassmen can enroll in Biotechnology, but sometimes their background knowledge needs some refreshing before they can apply the content to the more technical aspects of the the field.
One of the easiest ways for my students to deepen their scientific knowledge is through complex genetic databases, 3D modeling, computer simulations, any way to make the abstract microscopic concepts in a more realistic environment.
The ability to interact with a model of the RNA molecule or the transcription pathway allows students to form a deeper connection with the content beyond just text.
My students love to engage with the world around them - some of which they can see and some of which they need to rely on me to show them. The need to interact with these abstract concepts is something that they just can't do without the support of simulations and models.
My Project
My students and I have been so lucky to have received Chromebooks from previous DonorsChoose projects. Now, we need a way to safely store these computers so that they are ready for my students to use.
A lockable storage cart that can be plugged in and charge the ChromeBooks is an absolute necessity.
Right now, computers are being housed in a milk crate, where they get knocked together and become easily disorganized so that students to not connect them to their power sources. Furthermore, these ChromeBooks are not at all secure, so any person entering my room could easily take a computer. Please help us keep these expensive materials charged and ready for use!
