My Students

Our school is a Title I school in a rural region of Northern Nevada that includes a military base, making my classroom very diverse. Yet even with these differences, they all share a love of learning. They arrive every day eager to show me what they have retained from previous lessons and eager to soak up and seek out as much information as they can.

It's amazing to watch the students expand their knowledge of technology and literature and the many ways it can be used in their lives.

In Churchill we were lucky enough to be in person last year, but for only half the day and some students opted to enroll in online instruction. The 21-22 school year continues to bring challenges with quarantined students. Because of these factors our classroom has a broader ability base than ever before.

My Project

In this COVID era as we continue to navigate quarantines the need for differentiation for our students is present more than ever!! Using my the clever app my students can easily navigate themselves to learning apps to help close gaps in math, reading, phonics, spelling, and there is even a typing app so as the year progresses my students, in first grade, will be able to type their first report. The great thing about a charging station is the students can be responsible for their own technology, accessing it and making sure it is charged!

Books at all reading level and interests are needed to help students engage in text.

The best way to have the books appeal to students is for them to see them! I will be able to easily update our class accessible library with books current to the season or topic that we are working on, as well as easily track them with the intelliscanner so we know what we have in our class!
