My Students

I am a Special Education Resource Teacher. I pull students from their General Education classrooms to instruct them on a small group and / or a one-on-one basis for varying amounts of time per day, and for some, multiple times per day.

My students have various levels of ability, and they all have an IEP.

An IEP is an Individual Education Plan for students who have been identified as having a disability, such as a Specific Learning Disability or a Developmental Delay.

My Project

My students require access to internet-based educational programs. These educational programs are just one way I collect data on their progress toward their personal goals written in their IEPs. These programs also promote growth in their general education classes. The iPads help my students access these programs from anywhere in the room: on the floor, in a chair, at a table, etc. The ability to have differentiated seating while working on the internet-based tasks allows the students to be more comfortable and relaxed, and contributes to their focus. The charging station is a great way to keep the iPads together and ensure they are charged.
