My Project

Every day, a few students arrive at school with laptops that are out of power. Whether they forgot to charge them at home or had no access to power, it disrupts their ability to participate in class and stay on track. Rather than penalizing them or providing a free pass, I want to offer a solution that turns this common problem into a powerful learning opportunity.

With a hand crank generator, students who forget to charge their devices can generate their own electricity to power up—literally.

This isn’t just a way to solve a tech issue; it’s a lesson in responsibility, resilience, and renewable energy. By cranking power into their own laptops, students learn that energy doesn’t come for free and that every action has a cost—both physical and environmental.

The hand crank generator will also support our curriculum in science, environmental studies, and engineering, providing hands-on experience with alternative energy. We will integrate it into discussions about human impact on the environment, energy use, and sustainable solutions.
