I teach in a low-income school with over 80% of the population qualifying for free and reduced pricelunches. Despite the challenges some of my students face at home, they still come to class eager and excited to learn.
A big motivation for my students is technology.
Anytime I allow them to use technology for an assignment, they all have big smiles on their faces. Most of my students do not have technology at home, so I try to incorporate it as much as I can.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will greatly improve the technology usage in my classroom. The charging stations will ensure that all our Kindles are charged and ready to use when needed.
It can be a challenge in our school to find a free outlet.
There are only 2 available in our classroom. This creates a problem when trying to charge 20 tablets. I give my students jobs each month and one job is to make sure all the technology is charged and organized. The charging stations and colored USB charging cords will make this so much easier.
When all of the tablets are charged, I am able to to plan more lessons and activities that allow my students to use them.
