Character Trait Discussions For Class Meetings

Help me give my students books that will facilitate character trait discussions during class meetings. These books are geared toward topics of wellness, respect, honestly, responsibility, and problem solving.

My Students

The students at BES are bright, vivacious, and eager to learn. As the School Social Worker I am lucky enough to get to know and work with every student in the school. I have found that each student brings special talents, background, and energy to school every day.

I have had to opportunity to work at BES for the past two years, these two years have been monumental as they have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

During this time I witnessed the impact COVID-19 has had on students social connections, mental/physical wellness, and also academics.

My Project

Class meetings are a special activity each day because it is a time for teachers and students to check in on each other. It also is a time for students to develop social-emotional tools to get through not only the day but the unpredictable future of COVID-19.

The books that will be donated are geared to help students develop the crucial character traits that Utah Portrait Of A Graduate outlines.

Teachers will use the books to bring up a specific character trait and will hold a discussion during class meeting about this topic.
