My Students
My kids are characters! Big hearts, big smiles, and excited to learn! They are bright and hard working!
Many of my students are ELLS and come from lower income families.
They come from diverse families, some are new to the country, and many deal with a lot of problems at a young age. They are so full of possibilities and hope. I want them to have a classroom were they feel safe, confident, and are empowered in their learning.
Every child deserves the best in their education.
My Project
A safe, inviting classroom makes a difference in a child's learning. Having a rug, covered with positive character strength words, would not only be inviting but, a central learning place for my students.
Character building is the foundation to my students success!
Teaching character building through children's literature helps children learn how to solve social and moral problems that they may face. These books teach children how to be responsible, caring, assertive, kind, valued, and proactive. When children have strong character skills it empowers them to succeed academically. The flexible seating gives students choice and a chance to get up and move to different learning zones in the classroom.
