This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a wonderful group of caring and imaginative 2nd grade students this year. Each child is special, unique, and eager to learn. My class is quite diverse and includes five students with special needs requiring individualized education plans.

I am so excited to provide my students with a performing arts experience that reinforces both literacy and social-emotional skills.

We will be doing a musical play, by Bad Wolf Press, that teaches students and audience members about the importance of good character. The play has a fairy-tale theme, and I am reaching out to the incredible Donor's Choose community to help purchase costumes for my students. These costumes would be stored and reused with future classes so many children will benefit!
