My students are located in Midland, Texas. Most of these students are economically disadvantaged. My students attend a Title 1 school, and most of them have never experienced many things. We have such a variety of students with different backgrounds and learning levels. As they learn the basics in school, my job as the counselor is to help them to learn characteristic traits that they possess and grow.
My Project
These materials will help the students to have the tools they need to deal with hard feelings. They will be able to have a safe place to calm. We will learn about different traits that we hold and how to grow them. These materials will help the students to become self aware of who they are. If students have to learn from home most of these materials can be used virtually. During these hard times students need to know how to cope with the feelings they have so that they are able to function in learning.
