it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We want to read together a chapter book in small groups in my Spanish class.
Bringing kids together in small groups to share the joy of reading together is one of our targets this year
We have chosen "The House in Mango Street", in Spanish, because it is a short and condensed beautiful book. It is full of experiences shared by a young Latino girl (similar origin to most of my students). The book is funny and moving, and brings a powerful feminist voice that my students will learn from.
