Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a diverse group of students in a dual language, Spanish-English K-8 school. My students are eager learners and love innovative projects. I am their Spanish teacher.
"My students spend one week studying every subject in my classroom in Spanish, while they are in the English classroom on the other week".
In my classroom, students are constantly applying skills and techniques that I am teaching and modeling for them.
Having the ability to immediately present and share student work in Spanish, for the English dominant students is amazing.
My Project
In my classroom, students like to read adventure and chapter books. For that reason I would like to give them the opportunity to fully develop their reading skill by providing them more chapter books.
The magic tree house books are excellent for them because while students are reading those kind of books they can develop more vocabulary and fluency in Spanish.
In addition to that with those chapter books students can also take it home to read and to explore unknown vocabulary.
