Help me give my students an enjoyable learning experience. The basketballs would allow my kids to be able to have tournaments and allow them to teach each other how to run the drills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a middle school located in Harlem, where the kids have lots of energy that needs to be put to good use. We have a pretty standard sized gym and are very limited on supplies. The students are of different backgrounds and love to interact with one another on a daily. I really love coming into work and seeing them mingle and enjoy some good team building games and activities together.
Most of the time the biggest complaint I hear going on with them is how there is not enough materials for everyone.
Although they don't mind sharing, sometimes they just want to do their own thing. They are young growing adults and may have different interests.
My Project
These materials will give my kids a chance to learn new things. The games that they will be able to be opened up to will help them learn how to work together, how to figure have friendly competitions. With these materials the kids will play full on basketball games, they can now be introduced to flag football which will be a game for multi players. They are tired of playing the same activities and not having the most materials. With your help we will give everyone a chance to enjoy their gym time. Especially for our young adults who have alot of energy and want to be able to use it in a positive way. Sports is a good physical activity to be interested in.
