I teach at a wonderful school located in the middle of a community that we call the "Tree Streets". The Tree Streets community is one that has a special feel to it. The school is located in the heart of this unique and diverse community, where everyone is accepted and understood. Our school is one of high poverty, but is not lacking in love! The students here are as unique as the street in which the school is built on.
This year, my dream of having a classroom with a 1:1 ratio in technology was realized. Since that time, my teaching career has reached new heights! I have been able to asses students in an amazing new way through the use of an application called SeeSaw. With SeeSaw students are able to create their very own digital portfolio showcasing their learning. Parents can view these portfolios at home after I approve them! Through watching these videos, I am able to give academic feedback using my a recording of my voice that the parents as well as the students can hear. The next step in my technology adventure would be to obtain an iPad Pro that I could use during daily station time. While I am teaching small groups, I can use the iPad to view what the rest of my class is doing on their own devices while keeping them on task.
