Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school serves low-income, high poverty students. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! Students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My ultimate goal is to provide the best education and safe learning environment for all my students by supporting their everyday needs.
My students are self motivated and when they have the resources and tools they need, it brings out the best of who they are and where they want to be.
Preparing our students for the future is crucial for educational success!
Young minds need to be challenged and no two students are the same. My students are all willing and ready to learn new things and enjoy sharing what they learned with family.
My Project
Students will be engineers by designing their very own unique individualized crafts to use with STEM. The vinyl sheets will be used for engaging crafts and projects to be used with our brand new cricut pro air machine that will continue to help us stay engaged in STEM/STEAM real world activities. The problem we face is lack of motivation during math and science with little or no resources to help us stay engaged. Engineering-based modeling activities provide a rich source of meaningful situations that capitalize on and extend students' routine learning. By integrating such activities within existing curricula, students better appreciate how their school learning in mathematics and science applies to problems in the outside world. Furthermore, modeling problems are open to multiple approaches and solutions; thus, they encourage the creative, critical, and flexible thinking that is often lacking in more traditional textbook examples.

Making math manipulatives, and science enforced projects by using these tools to implement in STEM/STEAM. These life long benefits stay with students long after leaving the classroom. Instead of students working in isolation, they gather around technology based lessons to collaborate. My students will be able to discuss strategies and brainstorm ideas. Instead of mindlessly consuming images and information, students creatively interact with each other. Using stem skills and concepts to find solutions to real world problems and using our creativity to bring our visions to life in order to make math and science fun and engaging while using technology. Using critical thinking problem solving skills as we decide what tools we need to create in everyday lessons. We will be able to document the model throughout the creation of our art, crafts, and projects. Engineering provides a rich source for creating learning experiences.
