My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning when they’re truly engaged. Many of them face challenges outside of school, yet they show up with a desire to grow, connect, and succeed. They light up when given the chance to explore new ideas, collaborate with their peers, and rise to a challenge.

The books requested for our Battle of the Books team will help nurture that spark by giving students access to engaging, high-quality literature that challenges their thinking and builds both comprehension and confidence.

These titles will allow students to practice reading closely, recall details, discuss themes, and build teamwork skills—all while falling in love with reading. Each book opens a door for them to see themselves, others, and the world in new ways, and it’s our job to make sure those doors stay open.
