My students need tennis and golf apparel for the upcoming season. My players are Title 1 kids who need assistance.

My Students

I teach and coach at a Title 1 school in Florida. All of the 1,200 students are provided Free Breakfast and Lunch everyday. As an Inclusion Science Teacher who also is starting to coach Boys Golf and the Boys Tennis Teams our kids are all confronted with many hardships and obstacles every day. Despite these situations, they come to school because they want to learn all they can each and every day and be successful in life.

Several of the kids came up to me and asked me to start a Boys Golf and Boys Tennis teams even though they have never played before and do not have any tennis racquets, golf clubs, etc.

This challenge is going to be tough, but exciting because teaching them how to play these two sports will last them a lifetime. After contacting the local golf courses and tennis courts pro shop personnel they have been terrific offering to allow them play for free with my guidance and leadership.

The final hurdle is one that you can have a huge impact with by helping them obtain necessary equipment to carry on their hopes and dreams in these and other future endeavors.

My Project

My project will make a difference because, as I said before, these students are Title 1 kids who receive free breakfast and lunch daily and need your help. They want to learn the sports of tennis and golf which they'll be able to play for a lifetime, but can not afford the necessary equipment and apparel to make it happen.

This grant will help them learn these sports that they will be able to play forever.

It will also teach them valuable characteristics such as good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive tennis/golf etiquette. Assistance providing the necessary equipment and apparel will open these doors for all of them. My students need tennis racquets and clothes to make this dream a reality.
