This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a dedicated and passionate Reading teacher at W.T. White High School, I am asking for your support in creating a warm, welcoming, and inspiring environment for my students to develop their love for reading.
To foster a more positive and engaging atmosphere in our classroom, I am working to establish a dedicated reading corner.
I would like to furnish it with a bean bag chair, soft lighting, and a rug—simple additions that can make a big difference in helping students feel safe, calm, and motivated to read.
These items are not just for comfort—they are tools to help my students focus, reduce anxiety, and connect with literature in a more meaningful way. Many of our students face daily challenges, and providing a cozy, inviting space can support both their academic and emotional growth.
Any contribution, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and go directly toward purchasing these resources for the students.
