My Students
I teach Kindergarten at a low income school in Jacksonville, NC. Many of my students also come from military families, as we are close to a large Marine base.
My students are fun, energetic, and loving children.
This is my first year teaching Kindergarten. In previous years I have taught Special Education, so I am missing key materials to allow my classroom to be organized and be as successful as possible. These students deserve to have everything they need to learn the curriculum.
My Project
In my school, Kindergarten students do not have individual desks. Students sit in small groups at tables. This makes organization hard for teacher, because students do not have an area to keep their personal belongings such as notebooks and folders. By using chairback pockets, students will be able to store their own folders and notebooks without cluttering other areas of the classroom. This will save time during transitions and having a more organized classroom will benefit the students.
These chairback pockets will be beneficial because students it will be the only area of the classroom that the students do not need to share with other students.
