My Students

Thanks for looking at my page! I am an enthusiastic first year teacher in Alexandria. First graders have my heart and teaching them everyday is a blessing. Having a small classroom is a challenge. Teaching first graders organization is an even bigger challenge! Chair pockets would help tremendously!

My 21 students are hard working, loving, and kind.

I strive to create a classroom community that feels safe. We consider ourselves a "team" working together to learn and do our best daily. My students would describe me as a silly teacher! My class loves laughing! I love engaging them and teaching them things when they don't even realize they are learning!

My Project

I envision using the chair pockets to hold the students math materials. Each student in my class has a math toolkit. The toolkit take up a lot of space in our small room. Each toolkit includes a dry erase board, coins, ruler, blocks, timeline, flash cards, and a marker. Having the toolkit right behind them would save instructional time and I wouldn't have to pass everything out daily!

I am truly passionate about teaching.

I want to give my class now and future classes everything that they deserve. I have one chance to be their first grade teacher! Being an organized teacher sets a wonderful example and chair pockets would help me to achieve that. I am grateful for any and all help towards my organized classroom!
