This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Who's a champ?"
"I'm a Champ!"
My students chant out loud every day to remind themselves that they are the champions in learning. The sparks for learning start in the hearts of these little children in kindergarten.
My students are bilingual learners in Korean English Dual Language program. More than half of them are ELD learners, and they need effective educational aids and supplies to support their learning and continue to grow as champions. Having access to new learning materials that meet their needs in second language acquisition will broaden their young minds and assist them in becoming the successful learners they hope to be when they shout out, "I'm a champ!"
My Project
My Kindergarteners enjoy read-aloud time and they are learning to participate in close-reading lessons as well. Their interest in books is definitely a spark for becoming advanced readers in the future.
My students need better access to leveled books at their seats.
Due to present safe guidelines in the classrooms, students are encouraged to stay in their desk seats most of the time, which limits their access to the books available in the classroom library. Their desk space is small and crowded because it's discouraged to share school supplies.
Chair pockets will be a perfect solution for this problem!!! Students can keep their own books in the pockets hanging on their chairs. I hope to see students' interest of reading keep growing by having safe and easy access to the books of their levels.
