This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarteners come to school every morning eager to learn and are excited about what their day might bring. Many of my students enter school speaking English as their second language or knowing no English at all.My students want to be successful in school and enjoy their learning.For many, this is their first time in school and they love activities that let them use their imagination. They are expected to improve academically, socially and emotionally throughout their year in kindergarten.
Many of my students come from low income homes and receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students love coming to school and I want to supply them with materials that help foster their love of learning.
My Project
In my kindergarten classroom the students use tables instead of desks. These tables allow for great collaboration, but not much storage for all of their supplies.
It is important for the students to learn about organization and personal responsibility for their supplies.
These chair pockets will provide each student with their own space to store their supplies. This will allow for the tables to be clear so the students can complete their work and activities.
My students will have a cleaner, more organized work space. They will also have all of their supplies within reach for easy and quick access. This will cut down on transition times and will allow us more time for learning!
