Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The stools will be used across various activities, including playing ukuleles, guitars, drums, pianos, basses, and xylophones. They will also support students in performances and other dynamic classroom setups. By having these stools, we can easily rearrange seating to suit different activities, ensuring that every inch of our limited space is utilized effectively.

These stools are essential for providing students with flexible seating options, allowing us to maximize classroom space—a critical need given our growing class sizes of 25 to 50 students at a time.

Our goal with this project is to enhance the daily learning environment. Currently, chairs are in high demand throughout the school, and as a special area teacher, we are often last to receive resources, if there are any left. These stools will provide all students, regardless of grade or size, with comfortable seating options, sparing our older students from the discomfort of using kindergarten-sized chairs or standing during lessons.

Our school is one of only a small handful in the district to offer music education to all students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. We are committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive music program, and these stools are a small but significant step towards achieving that.
