My Students

We are a new charter school in our 3rd year and only our 2nd year in an actual building. We're starting completely from scratch! Our students are resilient and a key part of building a strong foundation for a school family that will leave a legacy in the community.

The incoming 10th graders are the oldest in the school and will continue to be the leaders until they graduate in 3 years.

These students are being challenged in their curriculum in the classroom, and in developing the core values of the school.

My Project

A centrifuge can be used to collect cells, to precipitate DNA, to purify virus particles, and to distinguish subtle differences in the conformation of molecules.

We need a centrifuge for our biology and chemistry classes.

The students will get to use a real world tool in the school setting to enhance their learning.

Our students really enjoy forensics type labs, where they have to analyze an unknown sample and compare it to known ones in order to determine what the unknown is. They'll be executing the scientific method without even knowing it!
