Centers For Speech Language Therapy

My students need materials for speech language therapy centers, including 4 Whisperphones, dry-erase paddles and erasers, to make sure learning is going on while I am working with another student one-on-one.

My Students

Ideally, for most students, speech-language therapy would happen in a one-on-one environment. Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints, this isn't always possible. This project will provide materials for centers, so students can be engaged and actively learning in my room at all times.

We are in a small rural district in Illinois.

I am the primary SLP for the district. I serve approximately 40 students per year directly, with language, articulation, and fluency disorders. Most of my students are in our elementary building, which serves about 600 children ranging in age from preschool to 6th grade.

My Project

The resources I am requesting will be critical in establishing speech-language centers in my room. Unfortunately, due to scheduling constraints, I am unable to see each student one-on-one, and must work with some students in groups. The materials such as the whisper phone, dry erase boards, and clipboards will allow me to set up centers to keep students engaged and working on tasks related to their goals, and allow me to work with another student one-on-one. The students will rotate between the centers and working one-on-one with me for individualized instruction.

These materials will help foster a degree of independence for my students, and encourage them to take an active role in their therapy time.

They will help students stay engaged and learning throughout our sessions!
