My Students

Developmental kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold a paint brush or sound out words. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and dance.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

Through our morning meeting time, we get to know one another and learn how to show empathy towards our peers. We are working on building our character, our social-emotional skills, and our intelligence through a developmentally appropriate kindergarten program.

My Project

I was so excited this year when I learned that students could once again share learning materials safely. My excitement was short lived when I realized it was still unsafe for them to work in groups. I put on my thinking cap and realized that they could still play fun learning games and centers as long as I had one for each kid. I have spent countless hours buying, printing and laminating centers for my kids to use at their spots. They absolutely LOVE center time and when asked, they state it is their favorite part of the day. They are getting so smart and are ready for a new set of centers focusing on new skills.

Kindergarteners learn by doing.

I could use some help getting supplies to create more learning centers for my students to share. With each kid needing their own center I am making 15 to 20 new centers every time they progress to the next skill. This is time consuming and expensive. I appreciate you considering donating to my project and myself and my students are always thankful and grateful for any help we receive.
