This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need time to work with me in smaller groups to target the areas they need to improve on. Our challenge is there aren't enough materials and activities for all students to use.

My students are fun and energetic five and six year olds.

Most are experiencing going to school for the very first time. They get excited when the opportunity to do or use something "new" comes along. My students attend school in South Los Angeles, they are considered to be economically challenged and receive free lunch.

My Project

I need materials to create centers for students to work on independently. With the Ready-to-Go learning packs students will practice rhyming sounds, sequencing, alphabet, beginning sounds and opposites. The First Learning Games and Bingo games will help students master rhyming sounds, practice color recognition and build letter and number skills. I also hope to build a technology center where students can use various apps on Nooks to practice and master kindergarten skills.

It is important for students to work in small groups with me to focus on areas that they may be struggling in or may need a challenge.

During this time I need the rest of the students engaging in activities that will also help develop their kinder standards independently. These materials will keep them busy and help strengthen their skills.
