This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students work at different levels and need various activities to practice and reinforce the lessons they have learned in class. My kindergarteners do not have the necessary tools and materials available for them to exercise their brains and expand their knowledge during center time.

My students are 4 and 5 year old children who live in a low socio-economic community.

The majority of students are English language learners. They are great kids, but many times have to deal with difficult situations in their lives. Though our school may not be located in a great area, we work hard to give our students an inviting place to learn and experience new and memorable things and an opportunity for a better life.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will be used for my students to work with during independent and small group guided practice. They will provide my students with a variety of choices for developing the academic and social skills I teach in class with stimulating hand-on activities in phonics, rhyming, sight word recognition, reading, writing, and art. Not only are these activities educational, but they are fun, interactive, and motivational. They are academically stimulating and also promote independence, responsibility, and self-discovery. They will encourage students of all levels to practice what they know just by playing games. In addition, I will also be able to use the resources during small group instruction to help student who need extra support meeting the standards.

These resources will make a big difference in my students' lives.

They will motivate and engage my students to practice many skills across the curriculum. They will enrich the knowledge of students who are on grade level and help the students who are struggling. Most of all, students will be having fun while learning!
