My students need notebooks and pens to write amazing things plus laminating pouches to create centers where my students can become authors, mathematicians, scientists, historians and stewards of the earth.
All the students at my school deserve the best! I have some really amazing, dynamic second graders. The ratio of boys to girls is 2:1. I have twelve English Language learners. Aren't all seven year olds learning English? My students have a ton of personality. This project is for the new school year. I'm not sure who my students will be; however, the current first graders are also incredible.
I work at a Title One school in Los Angeles.
That means a large portion of our population qualifies for free or reduced price lunch because of their socio-economic status. We are an environmental studies school.
My Project
These supplies will help my students with Writers' Workshop, math centers, and Language Arts academy centers (early literacy language plan). They would also help during English Language Development time which is a time where students need to work independently while their peers get direct instruction on how to communicate effectively in English.
Wouldn't it be great to have one on one time with your teacher?
How about small group instruction on the areas of need? If I had supplies such as notebooks, pens and laminating pouches for my students, I could create centers so my students could be independent while I work with kids who may need more guidance.
