My Students
Our Fine Art Magnet School is full of students who strive to display their talents in a variety of ways such as dance, song, and art. Every student is capable of great successes and each finds their own way of doing so.
My Class of 18 Terrific 3's.
Of my 18, there are multiple students with emotional requirements and learning needs as well. I strive to create a classroom community where students know they are loved, and accepted for trying their best and showing what they can do!
My Project
I had my struggling readers and dyslexic student in mind when choosing these products. Some of the students in my class need an alternative approach to reading that will allow them to become independent, confident readers. The listening center will help model fluent reading and help students decode unfamiliar words. The listening center will also teach critical listening skills and introduce new vocabulary that my students may not be familiar with.
Confidence is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets.
The word tiles and sequence activities will allow the students to build sentences of their own. The color coded system with the tiles will help them identify nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. My students will be able to grow their reading/writing confidence and fluency as they read aloud their own sentences. Not only that, the sequence activities should improve their comprehension skills as well.
I am looking forward to using these materials in the classroom, because I know they will help my struggling readers flourish!
