Mrs. Campbell from Robinsonville MS is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need classroom materials, such as a set of Biography Comprehension Cards, markers, glue and scissors, in order to continue doing daily centers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Do you remember how much fun it was going to all the different centers in Kindergarten? I want to bring the same excitement of learning to my 5th grade class as they practice their grade-level vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, test preparation, and use arts and crafts materials daily in centers.
My students love interactive and hands-on learning, especially in centers.
They attend a school that is in a very low-income area in Mississippi. Anything I can do to make learning more fun and engaging, they appreciate. Their school also encourages teachers to do more hands-on teaching in all subjects and less worksheets, so daily centers and activities are perfect!
With these materials, I will finally be able to continue centers in our daily routine since coming back from Christmas break. Centers have been verified to help student achievement because they are so engaging and any hands-on learning aids in students' retention. I have requested materials that will be put to use in a vocabulary center, a fluency center, a comprehension center, a test-prep. center, as well as a hands-on arts and crafts center where we will create language-arts based projects.
Centers have been verified to help student achievement, and that is all I desire: for my students to enjoy learning, enjoy coming to school, and succeed in 5th grade.
With these center materials, my students will learn while having fun, which is what we all want for our students and wish we had ourselves.
