My Firstie classroom this year consists of 17 bright, loving, engaged learners. I have 11 boys and 7 girls, and we are a very active classroom. My students LOVE to work together on daily activities both in and out of the classroom. We truly feel that we are a first grade family, and work hard to treat each other like that. We love doing crafts, projects, and activities that include art, music, and dance. Fun is our class' middle name and we hope this project will help enhance our FUN in the classroom!
My Project
I have chosen the Sterilite storage bins and hanging file folders to help with organization within the classroom. In my classroom, we do a lot of workshop models that incorporate hands-on materials, center activities, games, and more. The Sterilite storage bins have clips that snap shut in order for all materials to stay inside and stay organized. The hanging file folders allow for me to separate the centers based on standards, skills, subject, etc.
These storage bins will help store these activities as well as put all the materials needed for the center in one place.
It will teach my students about organization and using materials nicely.
Students truely need the guided reading and math time to build on the skills being learned in the classroom. This also allows for students to work with others within in the class, as well as use their time efficiently.
