Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach kindergarten this year. About 90% of the students at my school receive free or reduced-price lunch. All of the students in my classroom are bilingual students. In my classroom we work on strengthening our Spanish reading, writing and speaking skills. Some of my students come from difficult family lives, but they don't let that stop them from learning and trying their best!
Most students are living with a single parent, grandparent or both parents who work full time, although many parents are eager to help in anyway they can I want to help them provide the best for their child.
I plan on building a community in our classroom that will allow each student to feel comfortable and express their creativity. I want to support my students the best I can! They like to move, they love to be part of our community, and they love lots of positive attention.
My Project
My students work hard everyday to master all the different skills they need to be successful in kindergarten. We are always celebrating, taking pictures and dancing when a student moves up a level in reading and math. This year we started a new way to celebrate by using balloons and confetti.
The students enjoy getting a balloon full of confetti popped over their heads!
I need the electric balloon pump to quickly air up the balloons as soon as a student moves up. The confetti will be an extra special treat for the students. They will be able to pick out their own balloon and fill it with the type of confetti they would like. All the celebrations are recorded and sent to their parents with the app SEESAW. The card stock will be used to print off certificates to display in the hall. Please help me celebrate my students accomplishments!
