Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have over 800 amazing students at our school. Ninety percent of our students are Latino and 76% are from low-income families. About 11% of our students are considered special needs. Our students are bright and creative and come from hard-working, loving families that want to see their children succeed.
My students are eager to learn and happy to be in school; however, school can be challenging for students who lack the social skills to make friends, manage their emotions, and/or resolve conflicts positively.
My Project
Students should be recognized for their success in school and have the opportunity to show others the goals they achieved. We will use our button-making machine to create buttons to recognize our outstanding students for their various accomplishments. These buttons will help motivate students and allow students to recognize each other for their effort.
Buttons will be created to celebrate student success and they will serve as a physical recognition of what students have accomplished.
The buttons will become a fun way for students to show that they are proud of their achievements and encourage their fellow classmates to follow their lead. In addition to recognizing students for a job well done, the possibilities for using buttons at school are endless! Buttons can be created to raise funds, promote school events, and can be designed with messages of kindness.
