My Project

What is your motivation to go to work? I love my job, but also know I need to go to pay bills and support my personal children. Some children just love school! I was one of those children. Other students, including my personal daughter and my classroom students, find school to be hard work and need additional motivation to stay focused each day and to follow the expected rules and behaviors.

Many children need extra motivation & encouragement to do their best work & control their actions when feeling big emotions to continue the day with their goal behavior!

My job is to find what motivates them! Since I went straight to the kids to ask, there is no doubt! My students were given supervised access to Amazon to pick out their favorites items. I sorted this items into 2 projects...this porject has the snacks chosen as favorites which included: hot chips, gummy snacks, Sour Punch Twists, Push Pop Lollipops, Skittles and Starbursts, and Hershey bars! The goal of this project is to add these reward items picked by each student to our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports reward store where the students exchange tokens or points to "buy" their favorite items once they meet their goal(s)! Once an item is bought by tokens or points, the item becomes the child's property and is sent home with the student.

My students have worked hard 2nd semester to meet their social emotional and behavior goals. As we near the end of the year, our reward store needs to be restocked with my students preferred reinforcers so each child is motivated to continue to rock their goals as school year continues and classwork gets harder!
