My students are English Language Learners who attend a suburban elementary school in Washington. They come from various cultural, linguistic, and economic backgrounds, many of them receive free or reduced-price lunch, and many parents struggle to provide basic necessities for their kids.
My students might speak different languages at home, but share a love of learning at school.
They want to be successful and strive to do their best. My mission is to help them achieve their goals with the resources and support they need.
My Project
Our school community is very diverse and we celebrate our diversity by hosting a Multicultural Night when families share their culture and traditions through food, artifacts, costumes, and performances. These multicultural books and CDs would be a great addition to our event and will help our students learn more about different cultures and traditions through movement, music, and hands on activities.
Helping our students develop understanding and appreciation for other cultures is very important.
Multicultural Night is a great way to spread global awareness and appreciation for diversity. Printable vinyls will be used to create decorations and labels to add more festive and welcoming feel to our event.
