Our school offers a summer math camp to help all students, whether struggling or gifted, enhance their math skills. We would like to be able to send each student home each day with some type of school supply as an encouragement to attend and give them needed supplies for home use. But we would also like to have a few items to give away for drawing at the end of camp and have a snack to give them each day. Our school has a population that is usually receiving about 50.5% free or reduced-price lunch, we strive to make sure all students have an equal opportunity to learn and reach their goals, no matter their socioeconomic status.
I know all students can learn at higher levels and want to make sure all students have the tools/supports they need to succeed.
We develop a community of learners by living our school motto on a daily basis: "Work Hard, Play Fair and Take Care of Each Other."
We stress "Exemplary Learning, No Excuses, No Exceptions!"
My Project
We are hosting a summer math camp for our students. It is only half day, but students always need a snack to keep them going and their brains engaged. Students will be given a break midday of camp and we would like to be able to give them a snack treat at that time.
Graphing calculators and Multiview calculators will be given away as door prizes at the end of camp.
Students love winning prizes and these will also benefit them during the school year, as well as school years to come. Also, students love gel pens so we will give those away as prizes also. The students faces light up when you call their name. These gifts will help students have access to technology at home as well as school
