My Project

Lunar New Year is just around the corner. Since I'm Chinese and their teacher, I want my students to learn about my beautiful culture and holiday. It brings good luck and happiness to everyone. One of the traditions of celebrating Lunar New Year is to value family and friends. We will decorate our classroom to create the spirit of Lunar New Year and eat snacks to celebrate the holiday. Students will read books about Lunar New Year to empower their my knowledge and understanding of this rich culture.

There are many holidays celebrated within different cultures, and I want my students to be familiar with the importance of the Lunar New Year across the world.

I want my students to experience many aspects of the Chinese culture, like getting chocolate coins red envelopes, using chopsticks to eat Chinese food, and writing words with Chinese brushes, making dragon puppets and decorating the classrooms with lanterns and other decorations. Experiencing and interacting with these Lunar New Year materials will help my students to really understand my culture!!
