My Project

This year, our high school Geometry class will celebrate the Lunar New Year with a culturally enriching and engaging project that combines math, creativity, and global awareness. On an advisory day, students will participate in Panda Express's “Let’s Explore!: Lunar New Year” program, where they will learn about the traditions and significance of this festive holiday. As part of the celebration, students will explore international customs by sharing snacks from around the world, playing games like dominoes, and creating paper lanterns to adorn our classroom. These activities will foster a deeper understanding of cultural diversity while bringing students together in a spirit of collaboration and joy.

In addition to honoring the Lunar New Year, students will connect these activities to their Geometry curriculum by designing personal T-shirts inspired by transformations and triangles.

To make this possible, we plan to purchase sublimation ink, protection paper, and heat-transfer tape, allowing students to bring their creative visions to life. This project not only enhances their understanding of mathematical concepts but also provides an opportunity for self-expression and hands-on learning, creating a memorable and meaningful educational experience for our English Language Learners.
