This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

We are excitedly preparing our end of the year kindergarten celebration!

Help us celebrate our year of learning as we prepare for our kindergarten graduation!

When we started this school year, most of us did not know our numbers from our letters. Many of us did not know how to read or write our names or to count very high. Now, we are celebrating huge milestones. Some of our joy comes from writing our first and last names, writing complete sentences and full paragraphs with key details. We know how to identify characters, settings, problems, and resolutions in texts. We also know how to use proper capitalization and endpoints in our writing skills.

Similarly, we are reading and solving number stories that involve addition and subtraction within twenty, measuring items with a variety of tools and graphing. We enjoy making patterns in AB, ABB, ABC, and even ABCD patterns and we can count to 200 by one, five, and ten.

We have continued to explore our world in social studies as we learn to appreciate and celebrate our differences, learn about our heritage, and focus on holidays in our world. We also have participated in many different science experiments involving several STEM activities.

Each of these activities have helped us to learn every day and our year is coming to a close that will culminate in an amazing celebration as we get ready for first grade.
