Help me give my students reading material that reflects the diversity of not only their classroom, but their community. These books will provide multicultural literature as we read about the many influential African Americans who impacted our country.
Despite their diverse backgrounds and varied life experiences, my students have one thing in common: the willingness to take risks and to not be afraid to fail. They come in the door each morning knowing that something brand new is coming their way and they have the biggest smiles on their faces. I strive to make my classroom a place where students want to learn, want to take risks and want to support each other along the way.
My students love collaborating and learning with one another as they unlock the endless possibilities of their potential.
They actively work together to solve real world problems so that they can become critical thinkers, creative masterminds, and explore the world around them as 21st Century learners.
My Project
My students will use these books to learn more about the African Americans who made countless contributions to our country. These books are perfectly aligned to my students' reading level and interest level. They are citizens of the world who will continue to celebrate tolerance of diverse cultures and peoples.
The students in my class come from multiple cultures who are constantly learning from one another.
As we head into the month of February, our class will use these books as part of their research and understanding of the importance of our beautifully diverse community. These books will be a big staple in our class discussions.
