My Project

Celebrating Cultures: Holidays Around the World in Our Classroom is a project designed to bring global awareness and cultural appreciation into our high school learning environment. By exploring and celebrating holidays from a variety of countries and traditions, students will gain a deeper understanding of the world’s rich diversity and the importance of inclusivity. This project will allow us to integrate hands-on activities, research, art, music, and traditions into our lessons, making learning engaging and memorable. Students will have the chance to share their own cultural backgrounds and learn from their peers, fostering respect and empathy. Incorporating these celebrations into our classroom not only enhances students’ global awareness, but also helps them see the value in different perspectives and traditions.

This is especially meaningful in our diverse classroom, where many students come from various cultural backgrounds; such a project will promote a sense of belonging and unity as we recognize and honor the traditions that make each student unique.

By participating in these celebrations, students will develop cultural competence—an essential skill for success in our interconnected world—while also building stronger relationships with one another and with their community.
