This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During the 2021-2022 school year, I made the exciting leap from being a fifth grade teacher to being a kindergarten teacher! This year will be the first time any of my brand new kindergarten students have ever stepped foot inside of a classroom, as all area preschool classrooms were closed during the pandemic.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I firmly believe that supplying children with the highest quality education possible is one of the most meaningful ways of changing lives.

We are designated as a Title I school which means that the majority of our students hail from a low socioeconomic background. It is my intent and my goal as an educator to ensure that my students receive the same access to opportunities, materials, and education as their peers who attend more affluent schools.

My Project

February is Children's Dental Health Month! I believe this month is very important and would like to use it to teach my students lifelong healthy habits.

This project is requesting read aloud books to get my students interested in going to the dentist and brushing their teeth, as well as dental supplies for every student to take home!

Kindergarten is the place where so many lifelong habits get their start, and my goal is always for those habits to be healthy ones! This project will allow our students to learn about dental health in a fun and exciting way, and will provide them with materials they can take home to keep their mouths happy and healthy!
