This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Black History Month is fast approaching, and I am getting ready to teach my 4th graders about the inspiring African Americans who have made a difference in history. This year, they will be writing biographies about a person of their choice and will be creating a beautiful display of their work using file folders. To decorate these projects, I am asking for Sharpies and a set of multicultural crayons, colored pencils, and markers that can be shared by my students. It is important to have coloring utensils that represent all shades of skin. In addition, I am asking for a Black History Month banner that can be hung in our classroom and books that my students can read about important inventors and students just like themselves. Celebrating Black History Month is important. I want my students to be aware of the different cultures around them and appreciate everyone for who they are.
