My students were a dream this past year; they were reflective and mindful of all that we did together. As we are getting to the end of the year, I had my students participate in an end-of-year reflection to help make my class better for the rising 8th graders.
My students gave me so many ideas on how to improve the school spirit within our environment.
They gave me inspiration on how to make lasting impressions and they encouraged me to take action so it feels like they are leaving a legacy in my classroom.
At the end of each year, before our students get restationed with the military and begin high school, we throw a large banquet to celebrate all of their success. Our normal venue is going under construction this year and we won't have a beautiful ballroom for the event. Because of this, we are hoping to decorate the room with Gatsby-level pizzaz!
With these decorations, students will feel like they walked into Gatsby's house, and we can't wait to see their faces light up!
Plus, if we don't have to use field trip money for decorations, we will be able to lower the cost of the event for each student. This will be the event of the year!
