This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Graduation is a major milestone, especially for my high school students—many of whom are from low-income, high-needs backgrounds and are the first in their families to graduate. I want to ensure that each senior has the opportunity to celebrate their achievement in a meaningful and creative way by decorating their graduation caps.

This project will fund cap decorating supplies like markers, paint pens, rhinestones, glitter, glue, stickers, stencils, and other materials that allow students to express their identity, culture, dreams, and gratitude as they walk across the stage.

These supplies will not only help this year’s graduates celebrate their big day with pride, but will be saved, replenished, and reused to support future graduating classes as a lasting tradition.
