Cause and Effect Switch Access and Touchscreen for Special Needs

My Project

Students that are not able to access toys, appliances, and environmental controls in a traditional manner may benefit by using a touch screen or by an adaptive switch solution.

Students who may have attentional difficulties can complete a problem on an iPad can receive feedback immediately.

In addition, students with sensory integration struggles may respond better to touch screens, rather than using a computer and a mouse.

Adaptive switches can be used with toys, appliances, and environmental controls.

Appropriate switch placement can allow a student to have more independent use of technology.

Adaptive switches can allow students with multiple disabilities to have independent access while working on developmental skills of cause/effect, locating sound, and visual scanning.

The use of adaptive switches makes for a more stimulating learning experience and allows students to achieve their potential.
