This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Rebecca Caudill is an annual book award given to an author whose book was voted outstanding by students grades 4-8 in Illinois schools. Rebecca Caudill was an author who lived in Illinois for 50 years. Illinois schools hold contests and Battle of the Books, to encourage students to read all 20 titles. Because the books are chosen by students, they tend to be favorites in classrooms.

I have taught ELA for 20 years and I love to update and keep my library fresh.

I personally spend hundreds of dollars a year on books, so any help I can get is appreciated. I particularly love the Caudill selections because I know that they have been chosen by students and they are engaging.
