Catching up on the Weekend

Help me give my students a laptop that will be used on the weekends for tutoring and extra help.

My Students

I have been teaching for thirty-four years. I have taught all-day​ kindergarten, first grade and second grade since 1985. I teach in Atlanta, GA. in an area known as Greenbriar. The students in the area come from the low-income area. Ninety percent of the families are on food stamps and live in low-income housing. My elementary school has approximately three hundred and seventy-five students in grades K-5 with three classes for each grade level.

My Project

So many students have fallen behind because of the pandemic. In many subjects my students are struggling to keep up and need extra help. Because students have returned to school face to face their devices had to be returned at the end of the school years

The laptop that I am requesting will help me work with students on many of the programs that they work on in school.

Each student will be given a diagnostic test. This will assist me in charting a course for their instruction and driveI‑Ready, a Personalized Instruction path for each student.

Students will work on vocabulary as I use the computer to Introduce Prefix and Suffix Families, This will will develop word consciousness by helping students to identify meaningful word parts and explore how each part contributes to the meaning of the word. My students will use the i-ready technology program on the computer to complete a variety of activities on their level. I will be able to go into the dashboard, click on Childs name and see if he/ she was successful or had difficulty with this lesson.
