This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a Preschool teacher in an inner city public school district. My students are 4 and 5 years old. Most of the students come from single parent homes. Unfortunately, many of the parents are unemployed, incarcerated or deceased.
My Preschool students are eager to learn, but most of them are living below the poverty level where they have limited access to technology and other educational materials.
They are eager to learn about STEM & STREAM, but we have very limited resources at school and almost none at home.
My Project
These 6 Amazon Fire Tablets with cases/software will help the students with Reading, Math and Science concepts. It will also help improve their technology skills. The students will be able to utilize software that will improve their Cognitive learning.
The tablets will help the students with Alphabet recognition, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Math concepts and Science skills.
The students will also improve their computer skills. This is imperative because students must utilize technology for standardized testing in Kindergarten.
These tablets will help the students build a love of learning by using technology in the class room. Many of the students don't have access to technology outside of school, which puts them at a great disadvantage.
