it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My sixth graders are low-income, minority students who love to learn and explore the world around them. They attend our Title I school, and most qualify for free lunch. Many live in gang-infested areas and yet they still manage to walk to school every day to receive an education and to one day become valuable, kind members of our society.
They crave creativity , but also need to be taught Kindness to their friends, peers and community.
Despite learning topics such as math and science. My students need to be taught how to spread Kindness in the classroom and beyond.
I am in need of Starbucks gift cards to help motivate my students to be successful and spread Kindness. Our school is fortunate to have a Starbucks right across the street which many of our students enjoy. Every year I use an incentive program to assist students to answer questions in both math and science. This year I want to focus on showing Kindness to each other. My incentive program will give out "catch them being kind" cards which students will put into a raffle. Students names will be chosen weekly out of the raffle, and I will reward the students chosen with a Starbucks gift cards.
